So today I’ve got a review that I promised a while back when I did my write up about Zach Browman’s Find Your Focus program… I mentioned that back in 2011 Zach had put out a training course called “High Status Humor” that is arguably the best program ever on using humor to attract women.
Women all say they love “guys who can make them laugh” – but…
But, as we all know just being able to crack a few jokes generally doesn’t guarantee that you are going to be getting anywhere with a woman. This situation leaves many guys looking for an explanation. What is the story – is being funny a good way to attract women, or is this just more misinformation that leads guys further down the rabbit hole?
Well, in High Status Humor Zach says that there is a special kind of humor that attracts women, and that the reason most guys fail with “being funny” is that they use humor wrong. His explanation makes sense and I’ll do my best to sum it up for you.
The basic idea behind High Status Humor
Basically the idea is that women are attracted to guys who have high social status. If you have been reading PUA material at all, then this idea probably is not foreign to you. Chicks dig guys with status… it’s a pretty well accepted concept.
The idea with High Status Humor is that you use humor to convey status because this is what real high status guys actually do, naturally. One high status funny guy who comes to mind in particular is Vince Vaughn. Here’s a clip if you are unfamiliar with his work:
If you watch Vince, you’ll see that he always plays really confident characters. He always acts like he’s the shit and he is never afraid to say whatever he wants to anyone that he wants. He really is a great example of a guy who uses high status humor effectively, and my friend who lived out in LA and chilled with him in real life told me that’s basically how he acts when he is off camera too, which makes sense.
Compare Vince Vaughn’s brand of humor with somebody like David Spade from SNL. Where as Vince uses humor in a way that projects his confidence and alpha status, Spade basically acts bratty. His humor has what you could calls a “low-status” feel to it.
Now this is not to say that David Spade isn’t super funny. I loved him in Joe Dirt! But hopefully this illustration will give you an understanding of what I’m talking about here. Women are attracted to the Vince Vaughn type of funny guy, while they are simply amused by the David Spade type.
Details On The High Status Humor Program…
High Status Humor is available digitally in a members area. Once you sign up for the course you get a username and password so that you can sign in and access all the training materials. The core part of the program is a video training course that was filmed at a live seminar where Zach taught.
Clearly, making this a video training course was a good idea because in order to really understand how to deliver high status humor you really need to see it and to hear it in action. Of course there are also bonuses, PDFs and all that sort of stuff that you would expect, but the video training is really the core piece of this program.
I’ve been through all the videos at least twice at this point, and I’ve got to say I like watching Zach. It’s funny because although this is a course all about using humor to attract women, Zach seems pretty darn serious through out most of the training. I appreciate the fact that he really seems to take his work seriously, and he delivers the content in a very clear, systematic and structured way. It’s also cool because you get to watch him interact with his students, answer their questions, and give them feedback on the spot so you know he has a really deep understanding of these concepts.
Best Parts Of High Status Humor
My favorite part of the program is when Zach explains about the different high status characters that you can play when you are talking to women such as the heartless bastard, and bad advice guy. I realize that to some it may seem ingenuous to “play a role” when you are with a woman, but it’s not really like that at all.
You see, confident, high status guys are used to “having fun” around women, rather than being all serious all the time, and part of this having fun is doing little social experiments. As Zach points out, most “low-status” guys are really uncomfortable about pissing anybody off. They have the “pleaser mentality” meaning that they want to come across as non-threatening, so they smile a lot and act submissive. think about how you act when you see your boss or your boss’ boss, you probably give him a big goofy smile. That’s what people do when they are in the low status position.
High Status Humor pushes you to expand your personal “social tension barrier” as Zach calls it. This is done in part by gradually experimenting with not acting so submissive and rather having fun and trying out new characters.
It’s funny because as he went through the different high status characters I realized that since I’ve gotten better with women i now incorporate bits of each of these characters naturally while I am flirting with women… This is fun stuff.
The Verdict On High Status Humor
This is actually one of my favorite programs of all time. The content is all really different and unique, not the same stale PUA crappola.
I’d recommend this one for guys who have trouble getting the initial attraction with women and who struggle on dates to get the sexual tension going.
If you are already getting a lot of attention and attraction from women, you may already be doing a lot of this stuff without even thinking about it, but almost any guy will probably get something quite valuable from this course… Click the banner below to get High Status Humor.
